BLE reveals License This! 2016 judging panel

Brand Licensing Europe has revealed its line-up of industry experts to sit on this year’s License This! judging panel.

Nickelodeon’s Tom Gunn will be joined by JELC’s director, Jane Evans, Jazwares’ Sam Ferguson and the Natural History Museum’s senior licensing manager, Pat Reading on this years panel.

The line-up will be completed with Clare Piggot, director of licensing and merchandising at Larkshead Media and industry veteran and managing director of LIMA UK, Kelvyn Gardner.

Celebrating its seventh year, License This! offers new creative concepts or brands the chance to break into the global licensing industry.

Entries are reviewed by the panel of judges before a shortlist of four properties pitch their ideas in font of a crowd of visitors to this year’s BLE.

The winner will receive a prize worth over £6,000, including a fully furnished stand at BLE 2017 in order to help bring the property to market. They will also receive LIMA membership for one year and a ticket to the LIMA Licensing Essentials Course and Spring Fling Networking Party in May next year.

Chair of judges, Gardner, said: “As the second annual LIMA survey demonstrates, retail sales of licensed products are increasing year on year.

“Platforms like License This! which expose new talent to industry executives are therefore essential for the future development of the industry. I am looking forward to working with my fellow judges to review this year’s creations.”

This year’ BLE will take lace from October 11th to 13th at London’s Olympia.
