Hoho Rights, the commercial arm of Hoho Entertainment, has bolstered its portfolio by securing the international licensing and merchandising rights to the publishing franchise, Toddler Time.

The firm will announce the brand officially at BLE in October, where it will aim to establish partnerships with licensees and retailers to develop its new range.

First published by The Creative Studio, Toddler Time began as an interactive book called Toddler Treasury, followed soon after by Toddler Christmas.

The publishing series follows toddler twins Amy and Archie and features bold illustrations from Katie Saunders.

Having already sold over 240,000 copies across 16 different languages, the Toddler Time franchise is eyeing expansion with a full series of new book formats set to hit the UK, US and other international markets in the next 12 months.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have secured the licensing rights to the Toddler Time franchise," said Hoho Entertainment's joint managing director, Helen Howells.

"We were initially captivated by Katie Saunders' exquisite illustrations and the simple humour which all parents can relate to. we are looking forward to launching Toddler Time officially at BLE this year.

"We hope to establish some key partnerships with licensees and retailers to develop a focused range of merchandise that is in keeping with the books' brand values and faithful to Katie's gorgeous illustrations."

Jeffery Nobbs, MD of The Creative Studio, added: "We are delighted to be working so closely with Hoho Entertainment and chose them because we knew right from the start that they shared our passion and vision for the Toddler Time brand.

"Toddler Time has very quickly established itself as an international publishing success and in the UK we are excited to announce the retail launch of the books in spring 2014 from award winning children's publisher Nosy Crow.

"We look forward to seeing the Toddler Twins enjoying the same success in licensing and merchandising as they have done in publishing."
