Normaal Animation's children's comedy Tangerine & Cow will make its debut at MIPTV next month, following a worldwide distribution deal with Imira Entertainment.
As part of the deal, the Spanish company - which specialises in youth programming - will not look after French speaking Europe, Netherlands, Greece, Hungary or Finland.
The 2D series is a co-production between Normaal and France 3. It is based on the comic book Chico Mandarine.
"Sometimes we stumble on little gems produced by independents, and Tangerine & Cow is exactly that," said Christophe Goldberger, head of distribution and marketing at Imira. "Normaal successfully extended the unique incisive humour of an environment which was just begging to be animated."
Also headlining Imira's MIPTV slate are the Olympic-themed Go Go Pig (Maga Animation) and Rat-Man, an animated comedy from RAI and Italian production company Stranemani. These are just two of the latest additions to Imira's rapidly expanding third party distribution slate.
