Jenny Sealey MBE, co-director of the London 2012 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony, will be delivering the Creative Keynote at this year’s Children’s Media Conference.
The artistic director of Graeae will join a collection of high profile speakers all focusing on the theme of ‘All Change?’
Sealey’s keynote will take place on Thursday, July 2nd and will focus on her personal and professional experiences working in the arts, the Aesthetics of Access and the realities of arts funding restrictions.
Her talk will also look at the potential of the television and theatre worlds working in tandem to create new partnerships which offer more diverse narratives for young audiences.
Sealey has held the position of artistic director of Graeae since 1997 and her recent directing credits include Blood Wedding which toured the UK earlier this year and the acclaimed adaptation of Ted Hughes’ The Iron Man.
“I am hugely honoured to be asked to speak at this year’s conference,” said Sealey.
“I have a vested interest in ensuring all young people have access to high quality inclusive drama so I am looking forward to rousing a positive drive towards this shared goal.”
