Licensing Expo 2017 is celebrating ‘substantial international attendee growth’ including a rise in visitors from South Korea and Japan.

Meanwhile, numerous product categories experienced a similar growth, led by video games which experienced a 46 per cent increase.

Attendee number from South Korea surged by 87 per cent while attendees from Japan grew by 23 per cent on last year, in what has been billed as ‘the most successful Licensing Expo to date.’

185 new exhibitors filled the Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Convention Centre as new firms used the show to launch into the licensing space, including the likes of BuzzFeed and the Scott Brothers.

“Licensing Expo 2017 saw substantial international attendee growth, as well as an increase in growth in several product categories, including video games which experienced a 46 per cent increase, followed by TV, video, filming and streaming, with a 45 per cent increase,” said Jessica Blue, senior vice president, Licensing, UBM.

“Our rebook total for Licensing Expo has already hit 84 per cent, which proves that this year’s show was a tremendous success.”

UBM is now gearing up for a full year of industry expos, with Licensing Expo China taking place on July 18th to 20th and BLE taking place this October.
