The Licensing.biz Power List will be returning in October, celebrating the top licensed properties of the year.

Published in association with miPR, the glossy book will be launched at Brand Licensing Europe at Olympia on Tuesday, October 7th. Licensing.biz and miPR will also be hosting a party to celebrate the Power List at the Hand & Flower that same evening.

Licensing.biz will be inviting 200 executives from all areas of the licensing business (including brand owners, licensees, retailers, agents, media and events firms) to choose their top properties in four categories. These are Character & Entertainment, Brands, Sport and Art & Design.

They will be asked to take into account criteria including commercial impact, creativity, innovation, longevity and retail presence.

Last year saw Peppa Pig named the runaway winner in the Character & Entertainment category, LEGO clearing up in the Brands sector, V&A taking the top spot in Art & Design, plus the London 2012 Olympic Games taking the gold in the Sports category.

As well as being visible at BLE, the Licensing.biz Power List will be inserted in the November issue of ToyNews, as well as corresponding issues of weekly sister titles MCV and Music Week.

Lisa Carter, publisher of Licensing.biz, said: "We had a fantastic response from the industry when we launched the Power List last year, so our aim for 2014 is to make it even bigger and better.

"The last 12 months has seen the continued dominance at retail of some old favourites, the arrival of new brands, some spectacular licensing programmes surrounding movie blockbusters and some major anniversaries – meaning judges are sure to have their work cut out when it comes to making their choices."

Kirsty Barr, MD of miPR, added: "We are delighted to once again headline sponsor the Power List. The enthusiasm and support from all licensing sectors assured us that the Licensing.biz team were onto a winner; with so much happening in the last 12 months across this great and growing industry I'm looking forward to seeing the results of the 2014 panel and congratulate the winners."
