The licensing drive for the London 2012 Olympic Games continues apace, with LOCOG now adding a kitchen textiles partner.
Ulster Weavers Home Fashions will release its initial wave of London 2012 products at the end of this year, including tea towels, aprons, oven gloves, tea cosies and textile bags. In 2011, this will be followed by official Team GB and Paralympics GB supporter product across these categories.
The firm, based in Holywood, County Down, was original formed in 1880 and has held a Royal warrant since 1995.
"We have had great support for London 2012 from the people of Northern Ireland so it is particularly pleasing to see this being reflected by businesses," commented Charlie Wijeratna, LOCOG director of commercial negotiations. "Ulster Weavers join a growing team of licensees and we're thrilled to have them on board."
