The man responsible for all the commercial and legal aspects of London's bid for the Olympic Games and the establishment of LOCOG, Charlie Wijeratna is leaving his role to join Tottenham Hotspur FC.
Wijeratna will join the club as executive director, with commercial responsibilities, from December.
He was previously a member of the London 2012 executive management team since the start of the bid back in 2003. With his team, Wijeratna set up and delivered the sponsorship programme, along with licensing and retail projects.
Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, said: "We are delighted that Charlie has agreed to join the club. He brings with him a proven track record in delivering commercial deals and will be a great addition to the board."
