MIPTV 09: Day Two

New deals for RDF, Telescreen, EA, Bandai and Galleon among others on marketplace's second day.

A raft of new agreements were revealed at the second day of the MIPTV marketplace in Cannes.

First up, RDF Kids & Family secured a host of TV deals for magic show with a difference, Tricky TV, and Finger Tips, the 'make-and-do' show.

The m4e subsidiary Telescreen acquired the exclusive worldwide IP rights (for characters and stories) to Pinkeltje for adaptation into movies, television, home entertainment, merchandising, internet, mobile, audio and book publishing (excluding the original books).

Pinkeltje is a character the size of a human finger, with a white beard, a blue pointy hat, blue pants and a red shirt. He appeared in 29 books by Dutch author Dick Laan and in one movie. The character is known as 'Fingerling' in the UK.

Galleon Holdings has strengthened its relationship with Chelsea FC through a long-term agreement with its digital media arm. The football club will be the exclusive partner to the firm's Super Soccer Star across all current and future territories, following the success of the format in China and Malaysia.

Video games company Electronic Arts is teaming with Starz Media's Film Roman for an animated movie based on Dante's Inferno. The project will expand on EA's upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game, which is due in 2010.

Turner Broadcasting has been showing a range of programming from its young adult animation brand Adult Swim. There are over 350 hours of content available to third party broadcasters, with the sales slate including Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tim and Eric and Metalocalypse.

Rainbow S.p.A and Big Bocca officially announced the production of 26 new episodes of Huntik: Secrets & Seekers following the success of the first season.

Cyber Group Studios has boosted its merchandising around its series Ozie Boo. It has granted five new licences in France and Europe - TSS and Albena (footwear), Embassy (pyjamas) and Mediaway Poland in partnership with the local children's channel Mini Mini (musical rights). In Portugal and Spain, Ambar has signed for the luggage ware rights for Europe (excluding France).

Bandai has signed as co-producer for musical comedy Jelly Jamm from Vodka Capital and Secuoyas. In addition, Bandai has signed an option for the European master toy licence.
