The date, new venue and headline sponsor of The Licensing Awards 2011 have been unveiled.

The Licensing Awards 2011 will take place, for the first time in The Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane on September 13th.

It has also been confirmed that Emap Connect, organisers of Spring Fair International and Autumn Fair International, will be the awards’ headline sponsor.

Ian Hyder, director of The Licensing Awards and The Licensing Source Book Europe commented: “The Great Room in the Grosvenor is far and away one of the best venues for awards events in the UK – both in status and capacity.

“The incredible growth of The Licensing Awards makes this absolutely stunning room the ideal venue to enable us to continue to exceed the highest of expectations.”

As headline sponsor for the second year in succession, Matt Bidwell, head of marketing at Emap Connect, added:

“We are delighted to be headline sponsor of The Licensing Awards 2011 - as the premier retail trade event in the UK, Spring Fair International incorporates the largest showcase of licensed product in this country and this underscores the ever-increasing importance of licensing to the gift industry.

“Each sector of the show - which covers gift, home, greetings, toys, fashion accessories, wellbeing, partyware, festive items, souvenirs, collectibles, jewellery, art, kitchen, dining and housewares – is intrinsically linked to the licensing sector and offers brand owners and representatives alike an unrivalled opportunity to meet a large and diverse range of existing and potential licensees.”

The Licensing Awards are owned and organised by The Licensing Source Book, part of Max Publishing. The awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate the best achievements over the past year across retailing, licensed merchandise as well as entertainment, brands, sport and celebrity properties in the world of licensing.
