Having started off 2008 by scooping the accolade for Pre-school Range of the Year at January's Toy Fair Toy of the Year awards, Contender's Peppa Pig is now celebrating a win at the Home Entertainment Week Awards, plus two nominations for the forthcoming Licensing Awards.

Contender walked away from last month's HEW's with the Best Kids' Programme gong, having beaten off competition from DVDs of Ace of Wands, Bob the Builder and In The Night Garden.

The award covers the entire package production quality, from authoring and menus, through to extras and packaging.

And there still could be more glory to come, as Contender and Peppa have picked up two nominations for the Licensing Awards, which are due to be held on September 17th at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

The Peppa Pig Activity Range from Character Options has been nominated in the Best Licensed Toys or Games Range, while the brand is also in the running for Best Baby/Pre-school Licensed Property.

"It is always good to receive praise from your industry peers, but the diversity of the awards won by Peppa is especially pleasing," said Andrew Carley, head of licensing and merchandising at Contender Entertainment Group. "All of them are clear indications of how strongly established Peppa is and that the brand is still growing."
