After a successful BLE, Rastamouse is back in the recording studio with Da Easy Crew and Andrew Kingslow to record new songs as part of a new album deal with Demon Records.

The deal sees the re-launch of the first Rastamouse album in spring 2016 and a second album of original songs to be released during summer 2016.

“Demon are very excited at partnering with Rastamouse, this highly successful children's brand, in releasing audio CD's and digital releases,” said Adrian Sear, commercial director at Demon Records.

“Rastamouse, previously with EMI, has had great success with their audio brand and we will be building on that success with their catalogue and a new album release in the New Year.”

Elsewhere, the firm has revealed a new five year deal with the BBC to relicense the first 52 television episodes which premiered on the CBeebies channel in January 2011 and have been a regular feature on the channel ever since.

The two deals coincide with a number of important activities launching this autumn.

At the beginning of this school year, the Rastamouse Key Stage 1 music programme, The Rocksteady Reggae School, commenced in schools across London’s Triborough Music Hub.

Drawing inspiration from Rastamouse creators Michael De Souza and Genevieve Webster and incorporating the music of Andrew Kingslow, the schools programme puts musical instruments into the hands of children in a thoroughly cross-curricular programme that excites and engages young minds.

Further announcements regarding new partnerships across the live and digital spaces, establishing a fantastic platform for building the business through 2016 and beyond will be made later this year.
