SPRING FAIR 2011: Golden Goose launches Mamika

Firm eyeing up key categories for eclectic photographic brand.

Golden Goose has signed a deal to represent the Mamika photographic brand.

Mamika is a collection of photographs from Sacha Goldberger featuring his 91 year-old grandmother, Fredericka. She appears in a variety of guises, including super hero and absent minded old lady.

The first Mamika book has sold over 14,000 since its French release four months ago, with other books having sold over 145,000 copies worldwide. Mamika photos have also appeared in newspapers and magazines such as Sunday Times, Elle and Vanity Fair.

Golden Goose is looking to move the brand into calendars, stationery, gift sets and paper goods.

"Mamika's outlandish and ironic view of life will appeal to students and gift givers of all ages and naturally lends itself to a wide variety of products," said Charlotte Hargreaves, Golden Goose account director.
