LOCOG has granted a further two licences in the toys and games sector for London 2012.

Merrythought has come on board to produce the official range of commemorative bears to mark the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The mohair teddy bears will celebrate not only next year's games, but also London's heritage as a previous host city.

LOCOG commercial director, Chris Townsend, said: "To us there was no question that the great British teddy bear could become a symbol to mark London 2012."

In addition, British gaming company, She Who Dares will be producing the Destination London 2012 board game.

It will feature venues, landmarks and tourist attractions which will be part of the Games and beyond. These will include the Velodrome, Aquatics Centre and the Olympic Village.

The firm has previously released Destination New York and Destination Paris.

Townsend added: "Destination London 2012 should be a welcome trip down memory lane, as well as something fun for families and friends to play."
