London’s Shoryu Go welcomes Sanrio’s Gudetama to UK capital

London’s specialist Japanese café, Shoryu Ramen is welcoming the popular Gudetama to the UK with an exclusive pop-up menu for two weeks only.

In partnership with Sanrio, the collaboration with Gudetama, the lazy egg, has been inspired by the character’s laid-back attitude for life, something Shoryu endorses for its guests.

Available exclusively to Shoryu Go, a ramen bar on Air Street, form March 26 to April 8, diners will be able to take time out to enjoy a decorated Eater menu comprised of three courses plus drink and limited edition Gudetama keyring for £22.

The set menu will include Shoryu Buns; choosing from char siu barbecue pork belly or grilled halloumi, before moving onto the ramens: Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu with added fried shallot and Gudetama egg or White Natural – their unique tonyu soy milk, with miso, konbu and shiitake broth, garneshed with a Gudetama egg on the side.

Those with a sweet tooth can opt for the famous Matcha Cheesecake or indulge in a Yuzu Cheesecake, both served with Gudetama decoration.

A range of limited edition merchandise for guests to pick up will also be available both at Shoryu Go and the Japan Centre Panton Street, Piccadilly.

Jade Kellman, licensing manager at Sanrio, said: “We are super excited to announce the first Gudetama pop-up restaurant in the UK.

“Shoryu Ramen is the perfect place to showcase our lazy egg where you’re guaranteed a good meal.”
