Magic Light Pictures’ Revolting Rhymes picks up win at Prix Jenuesse International 2018

Magic Light Pictures’ Revolting Rhymes has triumphed at the Prix Jenuesse International 2018, taking the top prize in the seven to ten Fiction category.

This is just the latest in a sweep of accolades that have been awarded to the animated film, and follows wins at the BAFTAs, the International Kids Emmys, European Animation Awards, the Annies and the Annecy Animation Festival, as well as an Oscar nomination.

A premier get-together for content, innovation and quality in kids’ TV, the Prix Jeunesse International is the world’s leading competition of children’s and youth TV programmes.

Revolting Rhymes is a retelling of classic fairy tales with twists and surprising endings and has drawn in ten million viewers of Christmas 2016. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, the film premiered on BBC One and was directed by Jakob Schuh and Jan Lauchauer, co-directed by Bin-Han To and produced by Magic Light’s Martin Pope and Michael Rose.

The voice cast stars the likes of Dominic West, Gemma Chan, Rose Leslie, Rob Brydon and David Walliams.

Revolting Rhymes has sold to 37 countries worldwide.
