Manchester United has secured a licensing agreement with the Billund-based toymaker, LEGO, the teetering Premier League giants revealed earlier this week.
Hints of a partnership between the Danish toy firm and the current Premier League seventh placers were first spotted amid the football club’s financial figures for the first quarter of this season, in which an agreement with LEGO was noted.
According to reports, the agreement had contributed to a £4million increase in sponsorship revenue.
Manchester United has since confirmed that plans are indeed in place to develop product through a licensing partnership with the toy company, with further information on what this will look like being released in the New Year.
A statement from the football club simply said: “Our partnership with LEGO is a licensing agreement. More information on the partnership and some exciting new products will be released in the new year.”
It will just be a Mata of time. (All and any puns to improve this are actively encouraged).
