Marvel’s Ant-Man encourages girls to take up science

Marvel, Disney, Visa, Dolby Laboratories and Raspberry Pi have partnered to encourage girls in science through the powers of Ant-Man.

The contest – titles the Ant-Man Micro Tech Challenge – aims to inspire girls aged 14 to 18 take up science at school by creating micro-technology based DIY projects.

The only restriction of the contest is that the projects must be constructed using readily accessible and readily found materials.

Young scientists can submit a video of their project in action to enter the contest.

The winner of the contest will be flown to the Ant-Man premiere in Hollywood on June 29th 2015. The budding scientist will also get to visit an Evolution of Technology workshop and meet Disney Imagineers as well as a tour of Walt Disney Studios.

Entries must be submitted by June 11th and more details can be found, here.
