Matt Hatter Chronicles is increasing its presence in southern Europe as the action adventure series readies to air on channels in Italy, Turkey, Portugal and Spain.
From spring 2014, seasons one and two of the CGI animated property will premiere in Italy on RAI’s dedicated digital kid’s channel RAI Gulp.
Meanwhile, in Turkey the show will air on Kidz, a free-to-air children’s channel targeting two to 14 year olds, reaching 14 million households nationwide.
Furthermore, Canal Panda Portugal and Spain will debut season three next autumn, in line with the launch of the consumer products portfolio across Iberia.
Platinum’s head of international programming, Natalie Llewellyn, said: "2014 is set to be a momentous year for Matt Hatter Chronicles and we are immensely proud to welcome RAI Gulp and Kidz to our family of international broadcast partners and to extend our alliance with Canal Panda in Iberia.
"Matt Hatter is captivating audiences worldwide because it delivers on every aspect of a young boy’s action-adventure wish list and we look forward to replicating the success we have enjoyed elsewhere in both Italy and Turkey."
This month, the show debuted on Spanish public broadcaster RTVE’s Clan TV in a primetime slot supported by a TV advertised cross-platform competition.
The show became the most viewed animated series for boys and girls of all ages across Portugal in August this year.
