Mattel Creations’ WellieWishers grows global footprint with Latin-American broadcast deal

Popular pre-school series WellieWishers is growing its global footprint thanks to a new broadcast deal Mexico’s Televisa.

The Mattel Creations property premiered earlier this year on Amazon Prime Video in the US and will launch on Televisa in mid-December, dubbed for Latin-Spanish speaking audiences.

The latest deal is part of a series of Mattel properties that appear on Televisa, joining the likes of Barbie, Monster High, Max Steel, Thomas & Friends and more.

Justin Richardson, VP global content distribution and strategy at Mattel Creations, said: “We are pleased to be launching WellieWishers with our esteemed partners, Televisa in Mexico.

“The broadcaster has exactly the right platform and audience for this compelling new series and with its timeless, illustration-inspired design and contemporary storytelling, we believe the show will resonate with young girls in Mexico and the rest of Latin-America.”

Maca Rotter, managing director Televisa Consumer Products, added: “We are delighted to be expanding the relationship we have with Mattel Creations and we are sure this content will be amazing for everyone who loves the American Girl brand.”

Supporting the content, a WellieWishers product line is currently available at retailers across Mexico, including a line of dolls, accessories and books from American Girl.
