Maya the Bee strengthens presence in Turkey

Maya the Bee is strengthening its presence in Turkey.

Studio 100 has teamed up with over 15 new licensees to distribute a number of branded products across the region.

Working with local licensing agency Sinerji, licensees already secured include Basel as the distributor for all Maya the Bee toys, while Hakan Canta will create Maya-branded stationery and back to school products.

Furthermore, Zorlu has been confirmed to create a range of branded bedding across the region.

The licensing campaign will support the broadcast of Maya the Bee in CGI on children’s channel TRT Cocuk.

The popular pre-school programme hit Turkish airwaves in February and is broadcast twice a day.

Maya the Bee also made a special appearance in April at the TRT Cocuk children’s festival in Izmir, featuring a parade attended by over 400,000 fans.

A localised Maya website launched this month – acting as the hub for Maya news and updates.

Marie-Laure Marchand, director of international licensing, said: "We are delighted that we have spread Maya’s appeal across Turkey and pleased to announce our broadcast partnership with TRT Cocuk, which has provided Maya the Bee CGI with prime transmission spots across its network.
