4sight Licensing Solutions has signed a multi-year agreement for The Dog and Friends properties worldwide.

The wholly-owned subsidiary of 4Licensing Corporation will continue to serve as the exclusive merchandise and licensing agent for Artlist's brand worldwide, outside of Asian territories.

Launched in 2000 as a collection of calendars and postcards, The Dog is a franchise that features art photography using a fish-eye lens and unique angles to create ‘strange ratio’ images.

The brand has entered many categories including plush toys, apparel, stationery and more. In addition to The Dog, the Artlist Collection includes The Cat and The Pig, and more recently, The Rabbit, The Duck and The Hamster.

Products are sold online, in major retailers and specialty stores.

“We are looking forward to the continuation of our successful partnership with the reorganised 4sight company,” said Artlist’s Shuji Kishihara.

“Thanks to our alliance with 4sight over the past 10 years, the Artlist Collection brand, which originated in Japan, has prospered all over the world. Our belief that this brand has helped to bring smiles and happiness to the world for so many years brings us a great amount of pleasure."

Bruce R. Foster, Interim CEO of 4Licensing Corporation, added: "The Artlist Collection franchise has performed very well over the past decade and we are honoured to continue our representation of The Dog and Friends.

"The enormous visual appeal of the images that are the essence of The Dog and Friends collection make it a great proposition for licensing, and we intend to build on the brand’s record of success going forward.”

4Licensing Corporation specialises in youth-oriented markets and specialty brands. Artlist was founded in 2002 and has offices in Japan and the United States.
