Characters from The Beano, The Dandy, The Victor and Commando will be showcased in a special art exhibition next month.
Artist John Reynolds is showing a series of limited edition screenprints of images from DC Thomson titles for the exhibition, called The Art of DC Thomson.
As well as Dennis the Menace and The Victor's long distance runner Alf Tupper, there will be images of Korky the Cat, The Bash Street Kids and an image from Commando of a WW2 British fighter pilot, helping to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain this summer.
"DC Thomson's characters are perfect for screenprinting, with their bold outlines and strong colours," said Reynolds. "I'm privileged to be able to use these great images - they are some of the most appealing and striking this country has produced."
Reynolds' prints are being shown alongside a selection of images of British footballing comic book heroes to coincide with the World Cup.
The exhibition is at Inky Cuttlefish Galleries, Walthamstow, London from June 6th to June 13th.
