This year's Licensing Academy at Brand Licensing Europe will include two keynotes and 12 sessions, Advanstar has revealed.
New session categories Trend Tracker, European Focus and Knowledge Builder will be introduced, plus a focus on video games licensing and a breakfast seminar created for independent retailers with expert advice on starting and/or building a licensed product offering.
A Trend Tracker presentation from NPD, in association with Planet Retail, will aim to outline key future growth categories for licensing, while a further two sessions will explore how to create successful digital environments which engage with kids and how to survive the recession.
Daily European Focus sessions will reflect the increasing European nature of the event, tackling cross border licensing issues.
The six Knowledge Builder sessions will look at issues including negotiating a licensing contract, royalties, pricing and financial know-how, as well as taking licensed properties from screen to shelf.
The Showcomotion Children's Media Conference will deliver a special report on the key trends in children's television in the first keynote address. This will be followed by a presentation from a leading producer, giving attendees an insight into what gives a winning children's programme its magic.
The second keynote address is due to be announced shortly.
