Representatives for industry charity The Light Fund were handed a cheque for £29,706.88 earlier this month - the total so far raised by the Bobsleigh Challenge team.
The final figure for the event, which was held in Igles, Austria back in March, should top £30,000.
Each of the 48 participants was responsible for raising their own sponsorship and over 70 per cent of the monies raised deliberately came from outside the licensing industry. Further cash came from a host of sponsors, including headline sponsor Advanstar Global Licensing Group, plus Allsorts Licensing, Bulldog, Gogo's Crazy Bones and Roy Lowe & Sons.
"When we first mooted the idea of a charity bobsleigh run we hoped to raise between £9,000 and £12,000, so to bring in £30,000 is simply fantastic and a fabulous cumulative effort by the people who took part," said event organsier Stephen Gould.
"A very big thank you to all of those virgin sliders who took part and to all the wonderful people who supported this event and helped raise such a fantastic amount for The Light Fund."
