The core Bogie collectible keychains and pocket product will be complemented by a number of new ranges hitting retail throughout the summer, after Ignition Licensing revealed a number of new partners for the novelty property.
A deal with DC Thomson kids' comic The Dandy Xtreme (which has a circulation of 60,000) has been a key part of the ongoing awareness building campaign for the Bogies brand.
A fortnightly comic strip alongside Desperate Dan and other well-known characters will give the Bogies a boost, while Ignition also has a raft of other activity planned for the autumn including cover gifts, posters and competitions.
Also supporting the brand will be Copywrite Stationery, which has signed up for stationery and bags and will be launching product in time for Christmas through Asda.
Web-based licensee Taymai has also identified Bogies has a growing brand and will be featuring it in their online viral magazine and etailer website.
Launched in 2006, the Bogies are parodies of well-known TV, film and music-based characters such as Optimus Slime, Axel Nose, Dr Goo, Slipsnot and Johnny Snotten. The line has a growing following among students, collectors and boys aged between six and 12. For more details, click here.
