Brands with Influence scores Egmont deal

Brands with Influence has secured a new contract with Egmont UK for a number of its classic comic and magazine brands.

The deal includes properties such as Roy of the Rovers, Battle, Misty and Whizzer and Chips among others.

"We feel this is just the right time to bring these titles and brands back to life through a strategic licensing programme," explained David Riley, MD of Egmont Publishing Group. "The nostalgia market remains buoyant and our brands will have a real affinity with those children, now adults, who grew up with them.

"We are looking forward to working with Brands with Influence to bring these classic brands back to the High Street."

Brands with Influence's Dom Wheeler added: "We are absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with these classic British comic brands. They are part of our heritage.

"We will be working closely with Egmont over the coming weeks to finalise the implementation plans to extend the brand offering through a mix of licensed consumer products."
