DC Thomson has appointed a new brand licensing manager for its consumer products division.
Ishika Kawiratne will now be responsible for targeting and developing new and existing relationships with licensees, promotional partners and retailers across the UK and international markets.
Kawiratne will work with specific focus on DC Thomson’s key brands such as Dennis the Menace and Gnasher and Jackie.
Joinng from the Australian Football League where she was licensed category manager for soft line, Kawiratne has previously held roles at Mercury Brands and Gaffney International Licensing and has worked with the likes of Disney, Mattel, Nike, Discovery Networks and Universal Studios in Australia.
Based in the firm’s London office, she will now report to Tim Collins, head of brands, DC Thomson.
