Children's publisher Egmont is looking to forge closer creative links with some of the biggest names from across the kids entertainment spectrum.

The firm's first partnership is with DHX Media, and will see both companies share rights across all formats.

Egmont's editors, authors and illustrators will collaborate with TV producers in a single creative team to co-develop ideas which can work across multiple platforms including publishing, TV and digital.

The first collaboration with DHX Media - Shipwrecked - is described as 'Gossip Girl meets Lost'.

"These are creative and commercial partnerships with expertise at their heart," said Rob McMenemy, senior VP, Egmont English Language & Central Europe. "There's a wealth of talent and experience across children's entertainment and joining forces with other experts to co-develop original concepts is a natural next step and an exciting new direction."

Steven DeNure, president and COO of DHX Media, added: "Our partnership with Egmont is the perfect fit for our business, bringing together complementary reach and expertise to develop multi-platform brands with global appeal."
