Following a review of its international sales business, Egmont UK is to make some changes to its team.
The publisher is planning to introduce the new position of head of export, together with a new international sales assistant role.
Egmont UK's European rights team has also added an extra member, with the team of four now managing rights and co-edition business across the region.
"2008 has been a successful year for Egmont UK and we feel that there are opportunities to grow our international sales business, despite the current economic climate," said Lucy Paine, head of international sales at the publisher.
Gillian Lasker, group sales director, added: "The quality of our portfolio across a number of different children's genres - from picture books to fiction; from character books to novelty - means that we are well placed to weather the storm.
"More than that, we expect to grow our international business by continuing to offer the most exciting books to our internatinal customers and partners."
