Kidscreen expands 2011 awards

Call for entries made; new accolades for international broadcasting join line-up.

The KidScreen Awards has opened the first phase of its call for entries for 2011.

Entries are now being accepted for shows which target pre-schoolers (0-5), kids (6-10), tweens/teen (11-17) and families in the following categories: Best Animated Series; Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series; Best One Off, Special or TV Movie; and Best Companion Website.

Deadline for entries in the programming categories is September 17th 2010.

In addition, new for 2011 is a dedicated set of awards for best efforts in kids broadcasting from around the world. KidScreen will begin accepting online entries in early September for an overall Channel of the Year, as well as in special achievement categories covering Best Channel Design, Best Integrated Promotion, Best Interstitial Campaign, Best Channel Website and Best On-air Host.

The winners will be announced at an evening presentation as part of next year's KidScreen Summit, which is due to take place in New York from February 15th to 18th.
