Kidscreen reveals 2012 award winners

Sesame Workshop, Cartoon Network, Aardman and Kindle Entertainment all honoured.

The winners of the 2012 Kidscreen Awards have been annouced over in New York as part of the annual Summit.

It was a good night for Sesame Workshop, which picked up the Best Animated Series 2012 for Abby's Flying Fairy School and Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series 2012 for Sesame Street in the Pre-School category.

The firm also picked up Best Pre-school Program 2012 in the Viewer's Choice category for Abby's Flying Fairy School.

Meanwhile, The Amazing World of Gumball from Cartoon Network won Best Animated Series in the Kids category, while Aardman's Shaun the Sheep picked up Best Companion Website.

Kindle Entertainment performed well in the Tweens/Teens category, scooping two accolades, while it was also honoured for Best Design and Best Music for Leonardo in the Creative Talent category.
