This year's Kidscreen Summit drew a crowd of almost 1,600 children's entertainment execs to New York earlier this month.

More than 350 kids television buyers attended the event, along with 917 content producers and distributors, with both groups growing by 15 per cent compared to the Kidscreen Summit 2011.

The event attracted 40 per cent more attendees from Asia this year, with the most significant growth coming from China (up 60 per cent) and Japan (up 50 per cent). Notably, China sent its first ever official delegation to the event this year, as did Chile.

The Summit also welcomed more European attendees in general - with France (up 20 per cent), Spain (up 30 per cent) and Italy (up 40 per cent) all better represented than in 2011.

North American participation was also up, with 20 per cent more delegates from the US and ten per cent more from Canada.
