Advanstar has revealed the line-up for its Licensing Academy at next month's Brand Licensing Central & Eastern Europe.
Five free sessions have been created specifically to help licensees, retailers and brand owners develop their business in Central and Eastern Europe. The seminars will focus on facts and figures, retail trends and case studies.
Planet Retail's Milos Ryba will give an overview of the retail landscape in C&EE, including current trends and studies of direct to retail licensing in the region.
Egmont Hungary's Gyorgy Babos and Lizzy Card's David Bozsan will use their own case studies to show how to choose the right licence and how to manage relationships with licensors, agents and retailers. Meanwhile, CEO of Kidz Entertainment - Morten Geschwendtner - and Nicholas Walters, senior director and country manager, Russia at MTV Networks International will give a step by step account of the challenges and opportunities of launching an entertainment brand into the region.
Christian Fortmann from 24IP will highlight the technical and legal considerations needed when negotiating a licensing contract, while LIMA's Martin Brochstein will deliver the opening address, called The Strategic Imperatives of Licensing.
"As other markets in Europe mature, brand owners are turning to Central and Eastern Europe for new business opportunities," said Jon Gibson, event director. "There is so much to learn about the different territories in this region, the retail landscape, the preferences of consumers and the opportunities for licensing.
"Our speakers have unrivalled experience in this region and we're delighted to have them on board."
