Following the success of India’s first ever international licensing show, Brand Licensing India, last year, event organiser License India is now planning four shows in 2009, all supported by Licensing.biz.
The first Brand Licensing & Merchandising event will be held in Mumbai on February 26th and 27th. This will be followed by shows in Hyderabad (April 11th and 12th) and Bangalore (September 19th and 20th), plus Brand Licensing India itself in Delhi in December.
Licensing.biz will be the online media partner for all four events.
The Mumbai event – taking place at the Nehru Centre – will welcome speakers from international and Indian companies, with License India expecting around 100 delegates. It will be held concurrently with FRO Mumbai, India’s biggest multi-city Franchise & Retail Opportunity show.
“The conference aims to analyse the growth of the licensing industry in India and its powerful impact on Indian retailing,” said Gaurav Marya, president of License India. “It will be a great platform for Indian companies to learn from global industry professionals, to leverage best practices and knowledge in the Indian licensing industry.”
The emergence of a more modern and organised retail business model in India – estimated at $200 billion – has been projected to grow at five per cent per annum, meaning more opportunities for licensors than ever before in the territory.
