Industry charity, The Light Fund, has announced its donations for the year.

The charity had just over £60,000 to distribute, all raised from industry events and colleagues throughout 2012 - including raffles at black tie awards dinners, quiz nights, a sponsored walk, run and parachute jump and the new karaoke night.

"The Light Fund committee is, as ever, extraordinarily grateful to all our colleagues in the licensing industry for their continued support, especially in the current economic climate," said David Scott, MD of Rainbow Productions and treasurer of The Light Fund.

"We are constantly amazed by the generosity of spirit to be found in the licensing business. The Light Fund has now raised and distributed well over £550,000 since it started in 2004 and plans to surpass £600,000 next year."

The donations for 2012 are:

Crohn's & Colitis in Childhood (£5,000)
Whizz-Kidz (£5,000)
Kids Company (£5,000)
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity (£4,750)
Parkinsons UK (£5,000)
Dogs for the Disabled (£5,000)
Institute of Cancer Research (£4,000)
Anthony Nolan (£5,000)
The Kusasa Project (£5,165)
The Children's Trust (£7,000)
Orchid (£5,000)
Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (£4,255)
Brain Tumour Trust (in memory of Pauline Lonsdale) (£500)
Motor Neurone Disease Association (in memory of Rob Edwards) (£500)

Michael Seres, chairman of the charity Crohn's & Colitis in Childhood, commented: "I have been privielged to have spent and enjoyed nearly 20 years in licensing, and I am absolutely humbled and thrilled that The Light Fund has chosen to support our charity this year.

"Every single penny we raise goes directly to supporting research programmes to prevent and cure this disease and, as someone who has undergone over 30 operations, intestinal failure and now a transplant, I know how vital every single penny is."
