The official licensing industry charity - The Light Fund - has been granted registered charity status.

Individuals and companies will now be able to donate and raise funds themselves through Just Giving, significantly increasing the long-term fundraising potential for the charity.

Since it launched in 2004, The Light Fund has raised over £500,000.

"After months of paperwork and form filling by committee members, we're delighted that we've finally secured official charity status for The Light Fund," said founders of the charity, Jakki Brown and Ian Hyder. "Having a charity registration number will make donating even easier and we hope the knock on effect will be increased revenues that we will continue to allocate in support of children, women and men across the UK."

A new website has also been designed by Bionic Communications.

The Light Fund's charity registration number is 1145596 and can be found on Just Giving by clicking here.
