Industry trade body LIMA and event organiser Advanstar have revealed a new date for the popular Licensing Essentials Course.

The event will now echo the format of the popular LIMA Spring Fling gathering, including the conference during the day and an evening panel debate and networking event.

The Licensing Essentials Course and Winter Warmer will be held on December 1st in The Caledonian Club, London.

Confirmed speakers include LIMA UK MD Kelvyn Gardner; Maggy Harris, Ignition; Stuart Burns, Fisher Forensic; John Burns, Halliwells; Dave Collins, Red Central; Andy Allen, Backstreet Merchandise; and Roger Wade, Brands Incorporated.

There will also be a session on heritage licensing and one for licensees on how to make licensing work for their products.

Panelists for the question time debate so far include Danilo's Trevor Jones and Andrew Maconie from LMI.

"LIMA and Advanstar took the decision to move the event from its traditional slot the day before BLE opens for two main reasons," LIMA UK's Gardner explained. "A number of people wishing to attend the course in previous years were unable to as they were involved in making final stand preparations for BLE.

"Secondly, we wanted to mirror the very successful format of the LIMA Spring Fling and add an evening panel debate and networking reception to this event. Moving it away from the BLE time slot and rebranding the event means that we have created another important education and networking point in the calendar year for the industry."

An early bird rate is available until October 30th, with LIMA members being able to sign up for the course and Winter Warmer event for £285 (+ VAT). Standard rate is £325 (+ VAT). Charities and students are entitled to a 50 per cent discount off the non-LIMA rate, while Winter Warmer places are available for £45 (+ VAT) for students, charities and LIMA members, and £70 (+ VAT) for everyone else.
