Egmont Magazines has launched Playhouse Disney, with the magazine boasting an initial print run of 100,000.
The title is aimed at two to four year olds and will draw heavily on content from Playhouse Disney's four main properties - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Handy Manny and Little Einsteins. In addition, it will also feature characters and storylines from other Playhouse Disney shows.
Each issue will have an educational theme, with each section of the magazine having 'to do' pages for the reader, which will include suggestions for further activities that parents can share.
The first three issues will be themed Water, Weather and Party.
Branded covermounts will also be included, with the launch issue boasting a giant My Friends Tigger and Pooh Pop and Catch game. This will be followed by a Mickey Mouse Camera and Sticker Box in issue two and a Mickey Mouse music set in issue three.
"In addition to its educational value, Playhouse Disney is an extremely reputable, safe brand that is universally endorsed by mums," said Alison David, commercial director at Egmont. "We are sure our readers and their parents will love the variety of content and the fun activities offered by this brand new magazine."
