Shortlist revealed for Kidscreen Awards 2012

Octonauts, Bananas in Pyjamas, Transformers Prime and CBBC among those nominated.

Kidscreen has announced the shortlisted entries for its 2012 awards.

A number of key licensed properties are up for the accolades, which take place at a special presentation and after party during the Kidscreen Summit on Thursday February 9th 2012.

Among those nominated in the Pre-school category include Abby's Flying Fairy School (Sesame Workshop) and dirtgirlworld (DHX Media) in the Best Animated Series; Driver Dan's Story Train (twofour54) and Sesame Street in Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series; Octonauts, Bananas in Pyjamas and The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That in the Companion Website.

Moving into the Kids category, and The Amazing World of Gumball (Cartoon Network) and Transformers Prime (Hasbro Studios) are nominated for Best Animated Series; Horrible Histories will fight it out for the Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series, as well as in the Companion Website category against Power Rangers Samurai (Saban Brands) and Shaun the Sheep (Aardman).

Other nominees include CBBC and PBS Kids for Channel of the Year, and Cartoon Network which is shortlisted twice in the Best Integrated Promotion category with How to Train Your Dragon DVD launch with Paramount and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
