VEGAS 2012: Doors open today

World's biggest licensing show kicks off at Mandalay Bay; Kathy Ireland to deliver keynote.

The first day of Licensing International 2012 will kick off today with a special keynote address from former supermodel and businesswoman, Kathy Ireland.

Ireland will take to the stage as part of The Licensing University, with her session running from 8.30am to 9.30am.

She will begin a packed programme of seminars for the first day, which will also include Basics of International Licensing; Anatomy of a Licence Agreement; The Why, What and How of Licensing Style Guides; New Age of Brand Licensing; How to Work with Licensing Agents and Consultants; Top 10 Checklist for Art Licensing; Licensing in Latin America; Royalty Rate Trends; Taking a Property from Digital to Retail; What Makes a Merchandisable Property; and Growing Through Demographics: Case Studies Targeting Baby Boomer and Hispanic Customers.

Over 400 exhibitors are on the showfloor at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, representing more than 5,000 brands.

"This will be our most exciting, diverse show ever," said Chris DeMoulin, president of licensing for show organiser, Advanstar.
