New animated 3D musical Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return will be showcased for the first time at Licensing Expo next month, Evolution has revealed.
The firm is working with Summertime Entertainment on the licensing programme, which already boasts a number of US licensees.
Based on the original book series written by Roger Stanton Baum, Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return features voice talent such as Glee's Lea Michele as Dorothy, plus Kelsey Grammer, Jim Belushi, Patrick Stewart and Dan Aykroyd among others.
US partners already on board include Bandai America (master toy), Culturenik, Added Extras, Attraction Media & Entertainment, Housewares International, Madame Alexander Doll Company and Rubies among others.
"The iconic characters first introduced by L Frank Baum are timeless and continue to capture the hearts and imaginations of each new generation," said Evolution's president of licensing and retail development, Travis Rutherford. "The Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return film is a fabulous piece of family friendly animated entertainment that provides retailers of all tiers of the market with a very meaningful merchandising opportunity.
"The consumer demand for the original characters of Oz is at an all-time high, and the response thus far to the finished film from both licensees and retailers has been outstanding."
