Warner takes The Vampire Diaries to Facebook

A new social game will let fans get their teeth into exclusive storylines and new content.

In The Vampire Diaries: Get Sucked In, players can visit locations from the show to uncover ‘dark secrets’ about the town and its residents.

The game was developed by Arcadium.

Using Facebook credits players can purchase in-game items, unlock new content and open special prize chests.

Samantha Ryan, SVP, production and development at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, said: "The Vampire Diaries: Get Sucked In will draw Facebook fans in with gameplay that builds upon key plot lines involving their favourite characters. Players of the game will get to delve deeper into the engaging mysteries that have made The Vampire Diaries a hit."

Facebook games are fast becoming a key brand building strategy for Warner. A game based on the sitcom The Big Bang Theory was launched on the social network last month.
