Consumer products to roll out worldwide in 2014; extensive toy range from Mattel.

Mia and Me returns for second series across the globe

Award winning pre-school animated series, Mia and Me has been commissioned for a second series, scheduled for broadcast by the end of 2014, beginning of 2015.

Property of Rainbow and in co-production with Lucky Punch and March Entertainment, Mia and Me has enjoyed strong international TV sales and positive ratings for series one, cementing its return for a second running.

In a course of one and a half years, series one has been sold to over 70 broadcasters in more than 60 countries across the globe.

The second series will feature new locations, new characters and new animals as well as outfits, friends and foes, while an extensive toy range is planned for next year by the international toy partner Mattel.

A consumer product roll out plan for 2014 will be co-ordinated in each territory following the appointment of new agents: Exim for Latin America, Wild Pumpkin for Australia and New Zealand, PopCorn for Portugal, Point of View for Israel, B-rights for Greece and Planeta for Spain.

A press release announcing the second series read ‘the collectable power and the toyetic value have been confirmed as key assets of the property, perfect for licensing, with many new unicorns that will interact directly with the main characters and more new props and accessories that will continue to inspire new toy products.

‘These will be added to the existing products developed by prestigious partners such as Ravensburger, Simba Toys and AMC Toys.’

Mia and Me follows the adventures of a bright but awkward 12-year-old girl in the live action world as she struggles to fit into her boarding school. But in the animated world of Centopia, she turns into a pretty elf who becomes the guardian of the land’s unicorns.
