Mind Candy’s Michael Acton Smith and Shadow Minister for Culture, Media and Sport, Helen Goodman have joined the line-up of speakers for this year’s Children Media Conference.
Goodman – the leader for the Opposition on media and broadcast, the Leveson inquiry, the BBC and the licence fee – will be taking part in a session looking at charter renewal.
She will be joined on a panel of speakers by Steve Hewlett, writer and broadcaster, Jeanette Steemers, professor of media and communications at the University of Westminster and Oli Hyatt, MBE, creative director at Blue Zoo Animation.
Also scheduled for the event running from July 2nd to 4th in Sheffield is Mind Candy’s CEO Michael Acton Smith.
Acton Smith will deliver the closing keynote of Friday’s event and unveil the launch of a new project – a new creative community for seven to 12 year olds that will become a platform for content creators to connect with fans.
Currently in its 11th year, the Children Media Conference is a UK event supporting childen’s media and hosts a delegation of creative, producers and distributors of kids’ content across all media.
This year’s event is themed around Child@Heart and will feature an international exchange, bringing IP owners, producers, writers and more from the UK together with those from around the world.
