Limited edition Santa Claus style character will also appear in game in run up to Christmas.

Mind Candy’s World of Warriors makes Android debut

Mind Candy has launched its World of Warriors brand onto the Android platform.

Already available on the Apple App Store, World of Warriors is now also available on Google Play. The number one role playing game for iPad in over 80 countries in the App store, and featured globally in Best New Games with an average 4.5 star rating, World of Warriors also features in The App Store’s Best of 2014 list.

Since the game’s debut on the App Store in November, players have entered into more than 87 million fights and collected ten million Warriors.

An all-new IP for Mind Candy, World of Warriors features an ever-expanding array of warriors from throughout history, including Aztecs, Knights, Vikings, Samurai and hundreds more. The game takes players on an epic quest across the vast Wildlands, where every warrior comes with their own fascinating backstory, special moves and educational facts.

In addition to the launch on Android, to celebrate the Christmas season a horde of new Warriors and Talismans will arrive in the game each week, so players can collect and master their jaw-dropping new special moves to extend their strategy.

Even more legendary Warriors will be exclusively by scoring top marks in the Global Leaderboard at the Tower of Trials, including Zazan the Assyrian Warrior, Blain the Gaelic Kern, Manawa the Maori Warrior and Zahra the Scythian Princess. The game will also see the introduction of a limited edition Santa Claus style character, Kringle the Festive Fighter who will become playable for all just before Christmas for a limited time only.

The game has launched worldwide, localised into multiple languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Launch will be heavily supported by a global marketing campaign. But the game is only the beginning: Mind Candy has signed global deals with Penguin, Topps, Moose, Giochi Preziosi and Flair for products inspired by the rich World of Warriors universe. With trading cards kicking off the US & UK consumer products program from April 2015, publishing, toys, apparel and accessories will follow throughout next year with a strong roadmap of digital and entertainment content locked in.

Darran Garnham, chief commercial officer at Mind Candy, said: “We’re over the moon about the response to World of Warriors so far and we’re extremely excited that Android users will now be able to enjoy this epic game too. There’s a lot lined up for the Warriors universe in 2015 and we can’t wait to unleash it on the world."
