Minions has remained top of the UK box office for the third week in a row.
Screen reports that Universal’s Despicable Me prequel made £4.15 to bring its total to £27.6m. This means Minions passes Home as the highest grossing animated film of the year so far.
Universal also became the first ever distributor to achieve a the first, second and third positions at the top of the UK box office, with Minions, Ted 2 and Jurassic World.
Jurassic World added £1.85m to bring its UK gross to date to £57.1m. This means the latest in the Jurassic Park franchise is on track to leapfrog The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’ £57.6m gross to become the tenth biggest film of all time.
