The Mr Men & Little Miss licensing programme is ramping up with the announcement of two new deals: one for toys and one for family cruises.
Sanrio has partnered with Mookie Toys to launch a range of Mr. Men & Little Miss plush and play-sets in the UK, in a deal brokered by Fluid World.
Launching this autumn, the new lines will include basic and feature plush in a range of sizes, along with plush accessories like back packs and key rings. Plastic play-sets and figurines will follow in 2014, supported by TV advertising.
In a recent survey in Licensing.biz sister publication ToyNews, Mr Men & Little Miss was named the heritage property kids most want to see come to life in toys.
Mookie Toys joins the family of 58 licensees already on board the Mr Men Little Miss licensing programme.
Guy Orr from Mookie Toys said: "Mookie Toys see this as a huge opportunity for the business to grow its plush and play-sets offering to retailers, and impose ourselves in both categories to be recognised as major Q4 supplier as well as outdoor. We intend to create a fun and innovative range of products to capture all the magic of the brand."
Furthermore, Sanrio’s Mr Men & Little Miss brand has partnered with P&O Cruises, in a deal again brokered by Fluid World.
Mr Bump and Little Miss Sunshine take centre stage on board three P&O Cruise liners from summer 2013. They will be "bringing storytelling to life" through family focused activities in-line with revamped Children’s Centres.
Cross-category merchandise will be available within the on-board shop.
A statement read: "2013 and beyond is a very exciting time for Mr Men & Little Miss as the top five publishing brand (selling eight milliin books in the UK last year) expands into new customer centric experiences alongside expanding the merchandise programme at UK retail."
