National Geographic promotes Big Cat Week with animatronic leopard on London streets

National Geographic has promoted its new Big Cat Week programming as well as raising awareness for threats to big cat habitats by deploying a realistic animatronic leopard to the streets of London.

The leopard, that was created by a team of robotics experts was placed around various busy London streets to stun passers by, to emulate how big cats stalk the streets of Mumbai.

The impressive animatronic creation has 40 different moving parts and requires three people to operate.

Big Cat Week is under way on National Geographic and features such shows as ‘King of the Kill’ and ‘Soul of the Cat’.
