NBCUniversal completes acquisition of DreamWorks Animation

NBCUniversal has revealed that it has completed the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc, in a deal worth around $3.8 billion.

The studio will now become a part of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, which comprises Universal Pictures, Fandango and NBCUniversal Brand Development.

DreamWorks will be receiving $41 in cash for each share of the company’s common stock, and post-closing, DreamWorks shares will no longer be listed on NBCUniversal, which is a division of Comcast Corporation.

Plus, on September 21st 2016, DreamWorks will redeem all $300 million aggregate principal amount outstanding of its 6.875 per cent Senior Notes that is due on August 15th 2020, at a redemption price of 105.156 per cent.
